Each bag will be artisan/individually handmade by myself using Rattan centre cane (sometimes known as core cane or peeled cane (Rotan Palm) from South East Asia). With No 10 cane for the main stakes of the slaith base and No 8 for the by-stakes of the slaith base and sides. No 3 cane is used in the weaving (randing, pairing, waling/upset). Chair seating cane is used for the final stitching together of the bag. Sizes are approx. Width 8" / 204mm; Height 8" / 204mm; Depth 2.5" / 64mm. The circular insides of the bag are lined with a random selection of linen/cotton fabric from my vintage doilies/tablecloth/serviettes collection. Handles: The 3 metre long crossover body handle is available in leather/suede combination or just suede in natural, beige or tan colourway. The short handles are available in either natural bamboo or clear transparent plastic. Short Dutch rush handles (hand twisted and plaited), single or doubles are also an option. Metal loops are used to secure the bamboo handles and are available in silver, burnished silver or antique brass with matching base studs. Also available are tassels in Dutch rush with a small Cap/Bell Closer.
